WARDOGS Put $100,000 on the Best Player Clip, Then Had to Explain the Announcement

WARDOGS is offering $100,000 in real cash for the best player clip, which is either brilliant creator marketing or the fastest way to make every lobby start behaving like it has an imaginary film crew.

BULKHEAD announced the contest during its FPS Games Show push: play WARDOGS, clip your best moment, submit it or use the #WARDOGS100K tag, and the top clip can win the real-money grand prize. The studio says the money comes from the marketing budget, not game development or pre-order money.

Then the announcement became its own story

The reveal did not land cleanly with everybody. BULKHEAD followed it with a video titled Addressing the Announcement, saying the goal was never to lead players on or overhype the reveal and apologizing for how it came across.

That makes this more interesting than a normal giveaway. WARDOGS is explicitly trying to turn player-made clips into its marketing engine. For a game built around 100-player chaos, that might actually be smarter than another polished trailer nobody remembers two days later.

More WARDOGS: 300K+ players showed up and melted the launch servers.
