WARDOGS Hit 300K Players and Immediately Melted Its Servers

WARDOGS did not have a quiet Early Access launch. It blew past 300,000 players, hit the top of Steam’s seller chart, and then the servers started choking on the crowd.

PC Gamer reported that BULKHEAD temporarily took the servers offline after login queues and connection problems slammed launch day. The developer said the issue had not appeared during the previous betas, which is the kind of sentence every studio gets to say exactly once before the internet turns it into a meme.

Why the WARDOGS launch matters

The interesting part is not just that the servers broke. Plenty of games manage that achievement. It is why they broke. WARDOGS is a 100-player, three-team tactical FPS sitting somewhere between Battlefield accessibility and milsim logistics, with a personal cash economy, FOB building, vehicles and enough teamwork systems to let somebody make money without becoming the lobby’s resident kill goblin.

That formula clearly found an audience fast. Now BULKHEAD has to prove the demand survives the launch pain instead of becoming another 48-hour Steam fever dream.
