The Modern Warfare 4 campaign trailer turns the squad reunion into a manhunt: Ghost and Gaz are ordered to capture or kill Captain Price. That is one hell of a way to leave the group chat. The trailer is out; the game is still coming October 23, 2026.

The September 17 official campaign reveal places Price outside the system he served. Task Force 141 has fractured, former teammates are pursuing him, and Valeria becomes an uncomfortable ally. The fiction also follows fighting on the Korean Peninsula.
The dates before the hype
Campaign Early Access is scheduled for October 16 for eligible Standard Digital or Vault Edition preorders. That means campaign access—not a promise that the whole game opens a week early. Full launch remains October 23.

Need the backstory? Activision’s Modern Warfare story recap connects the previous games to Price’s current situation. Fair warning: both that recap and this trailer discuss earlier campaign outcomes.
The Maz take: make the betrayal playable
The hook works for me because familiar teammates becoming threats gives the campaign a problem beyond finding the next bigger explosion. But a trailer can make almost anything look expensive and angry. The useful test comes when we have control: do these relationships change the missions, or just the conversations between them?
That is the angle worth following. Watch how the campaign moves between covert operations and larger battles. Look for mission choices, pacing and encounters that justify another run. No borrowed review score here, and no pretending a promotional cut proves the finished game delivers.
