THE PAYOFF: Pendola Pass isn’t just “ARC Raiders but snow.” Frozen Trail’s new map uses harsher Flash Freeze conditions, shifting high-value loot zones, frozen access points and the Fallen Emperor as a major interior/loot destination. Your old route-memory habits may get punched directly in the mouth.

Flash Freeze changes movement

Embark says Flash Freeze is built into Pendola Pass itself rather than being a random map condition. It’s harsher than Cold Snap and forces Raiders to use shelters stocked with supplies.

That means weather isn’t wallpaper. Route planning matters.

High-value loot won’t always sit still

Pendola Pass is testing dynamic loot zones, where high-value areas shift between raids. If the experiment works, Embark plans to expand the system to other maps.

This might be one of the sneakiest important changes in Frozen Trail. Static loot routes eventually turn extraction games into commuting. Moving value around forces adaptation.

Bring fire

Some doors on Pendola Pass are frozen shut. Embark says Raiders can open them using fire such as Flamespray or Blaze Grenades, or use the Raider Tool.

That immediately gives utility gear another decision point: spend the slot on combat, or bring something that opens opportunities?

The Fallen Emperor

The Downed/Fallen Emperor isn’t merely scenery. Embark says it contains a large unique interior and serves as a source of the new AMP modules used in Weapon Amplification.

Which means every Raider who read the same preview is going to have the same brilliant idea. Expect that area to be civilized and peaceful for approximately zero seconds.

New ARC live here too

Frozen Trail adds Bully, Skulker and Hydra, with the new ARC primarily associated with Pendola Pass. Learning their behavior will matter more than memorizing their names from a press release, so we’ll update this once we’re actually fighting them.

First-drop plan

Our first priorities are simple: find shelters, test Flash Freeze timing, locate dynamic loot, figure out the Fallen Emperor interior, identify reliable extracts and see where players naturally collide.

Bottom line: Pendola Pass sounds promising because its systems affect decisions, not just screenshots. Dynamic loot and environmental pressure could make repeat raids less predictable, which is exactly what a long-lived extraction map needs.

ARC Raiders Pendola Pass loadout decisions

ARC Raiders Pendola Pass should punish the lazy habit of bringing the same kit into every raid. Fire now has exploration value because it can open frozen access points, shelter matters because Flash Freeze is built into the map, and dynamic high-value zones mean one memorized loot route should not solve every run.

A Flamespray or Blaze Grenade used to open a route is one less tool available when another squad arrives. That tradeoff is exactly the kind of decision we want from a new map.

Where the first PvP hotspots should form

The Fallen Emperor, shelters, shifting high-value zones and reliable extracts are the obvious pressure points. What matters is how those systems overlap. If weather pushes multiple squads toward the same shelter or premium route, Pendola Pass can create fights naturally instead of manufacturing them.
