Frozen Trail 2.0 is live, and the most important advice is simple: rebuild your skills before you raid, learn Pendola Pass extraction, and don’t waste your first Emperor event.

What changed in Frozen Trail?

ARC Raiders’ October 8, 2026 update introduces Pendola Pass, new Frigate and Redirection conditions, Bully, Skulker and Hydra ARC enemies, Bantam and Stiletto weapons, Amplified Weapons, Outpost research, 22 new quests, a revamped skill tree, and the Grappling Hook. These are confirmed in Embark’s official patch notes.

Best Frozen Trail skill tree: Mobility, Conditioning or Survival?

There is no settled meta one day after launch. For aggressive fights, prioritize Mobility: Marathon Runner and Youthful Lungs remain excellent starting investments, with movement-focused new nodes worth testing. Conditioning improves hauling and includes Security Breach, which was moved out of its old branch. Survival is attractive for looting and crafting, including Nomadic Crafting and Road Warrior. A provisional 75-point hybrid target is 35 Mobility, 25 Conditioning, and 15 Survival, but check prerequisite gates in the live builder before allocating.

Build and check paths using the MetaForge skill builder or ARC Raiders Hub. Don’t blindly copy a pre-2.0 build.

What Reddit thinks

The big argument is Security Breach moving to Conditioning. Players with fewer Expedition bonus points say it forces uncomfortable tradeoffs with former stealth-and-loot setups. Others favor Mobility and Conditioning for PvP, or Survival-focused Nomadic Crafting and Road Warrior for resource runs. See the skill-tree complaint thread and new-build discussion. It’s too early to crown a universal best build.

Secret: how to open the Fallen Emperor

During Pendola Pass’s Redirection condition, collect Emperor event drops to acquire the Gateway Conduit blueprint and three different couplers: Conductive, Insulated, and Plated. Craft the Emperor Gateway Conduit to unlock entry into the Fallen Emperor. Prepare healing, gear capable of dealing with new ARC threats, and traversal equipment before entering. Full reward-route optimization remains in progress; a player has already reported reaching the Emperor Modulator. Read the Gateway guide and the player discovery. One report warns that some event items may not remain usable after extracting, but that still needs wider confirmation.

Six first-day tips

  1. Rebuild your skill tree before your first serious run.
  2. Test the Grappling Hook somewhere safe: rope movement creates new angles and escape routes.
  3. Learn how Ballistic Gondola extractions work before carrying valuable loot.
  4. Watch for Redirection conditions if your goal is the Emperor.
  5. Invest in Outpost Research to explore Amplified Weapons.
  6. Experiment with builds instead of assuming old YouTube guides still apply.

Our verdict

Frozen Trail gives ARC Raiders more than fresh snow and another place to die. Pendola Pass, Outpost progression, weapon amplification and the Fallen Emperor create real reasons to keep raiding. But the revamped skill tree is already dividing the community. Which build is surviving your raids: Mobility, Conditioning or Survival? Drop your loadout and your best Pendola Pass discovery in the comments.
